Will cov-query-db be discontinued?

We are usingprevent-linux-4.5.1 which provides cov-query-db for db access. However, we heard that it may be discontinued in subsequent releases. Is that true? Also, does this release (4.5.1) use a DB that is single-access only? That is; while a DB operation is in place, no other DB access is possible?

Was this question really asked today?

4.5.1 is going to be completely end-of-lifed some time RSN.  cov-query-db is history - CIM uses web services for access, even though a convenience utility cov-manage-im has been provided, it is a small subset of all the functionality available via web services.

4.5.1 used SQLite which is barely a database - more like an indexed file which supports query via SQL syntax.  So, certain operations (like writes) do in fact lock the DB for exclusive access and no other process can access the DB during that time.
